History| 1978 | The founders: Jo en Wiel Janssen start a waffle factory in Schinnen nearby the current factory in Nuth. | | 1987 | After a periode of steady growth Wafel Janssen is sold to Hazelwood plc. | | 1993 | Wafel Janssen moves to a new location in Nuth creating a capacity of 9,000 tons of waffles per year with 4 production lines. | | 1994 | The Janssen brothers leave the company and are succeeded by Dirk Drubbel. | | 2000 | With the installation of the 5th line the capacity expands to 12.000 tons of waffles per year. | | 2001 | After the acquisition of Hazlewood by Greencore, Wafel Janssen is sold to Bakkersland. | | 2002 | Beacause of further growth a 6th line is installed which brings the capacity to 14,500 tons of waffles per year. | | 2007 | Bakkersland sells Wafel Janssen to Gilde Equity. | | 2009 | Dirk Drubbel is succeeded by Adrie Schrieks. Also the 7th production line is installed. |
