History

 1978The founders: Jo en Wiel Janssen start a waffle factory in Schinnen nearby the current factory in Nuth. 
 1987After a periode of steady growth Wafel Janssen is sold to Hazelwood plc.
 1993Wafel Janssen moves to a new location in Nuth creating a capacity of 9,000 tons of waffles per year with 4 production lines.
 1994The Janssen brothers leave the company and are succeeded by Dirk Drubbel. 
 2000With the installation of the 5th line the capacity expands to 12.000 tons of waffles per year. 
 2001After the acquisition of Hazlewood by Greencore, Wafel Janssen is sold to Bakkersland. 
 2002Beacause of further growth a 6th line is installed which brings the capacity to 14,500 tons of waffles per year.
 2007Bakkersland sells Wafel Janssen to Gilde Equity.
 2009Dirk Drubbel is succeeded by Adrie Schrieks. Also the 7th production line is installed.
